Last time in Barcelona I met 2 canadian guys, one of them is Aaron Bachiu. When we went to the beer banks he was going for this Fs Flip and I started filming. He kept slamming, in the dirt, and eventually make it. He thought it was sketchy but it was more than sick enough to put it in FUVE. So buy the video and watch the friends part. Oh and I can imagine he got a temper cause it was already quite hot! Barcelona, I'll see you again in just a little more than two weeks!

Spijkerkwartier

After I dropped off some FUVE DVD's at Frisco I went out skating with Harmen. After warming up at the usual we went to 'Spijkerkwartier', a neighbourhood that used to be the red light district of Arnhem. I used to walk past this everyday when I went to school and always wanted to skate it. Both filmed a trick and then biked around for a bit, searching for more rugged spots.

So we stumbled upon this. But I after I took a not to nice slam and Harmen getting annoyed by the fence on top of the banks we moved on. Didn't find anything else and went to Frisco, where things are gonna happen soon!!! Sorry, can't tell you anything so I'll just leave it with a little tease.
Now I'm off to bed, goodnight!

Silk-screen

So today was the 'big' day. 2 P.M. I had to be at Willemeen to silk-screen print the DVD packaging for FUVE. Back to the cutting room again, this time on a light table instead of a MacBook.

Jan taught me about silk-screen printing for a bit and before you know we had the 150 copies printed on the outside.

Next we had to clean the screen to do the print on the inside. Silk-screen printing is quite an interesting process and fun to do!

Jorrit helped me printing them until the job was finished. Thanks a lot!

And there's the end result! Now I'm folding them so that I can send them to those who ordered and drop some off at Frisco. Thanks a lot to Jorrit from Willemeen and everyone else that has helped me with the film. I'm psyched on the end result and I'm even more psyched on the new project!

Last Sunday Harmen and I went for an early session, starting at these window rails.

We then biked around for a bit and had a look at this spot. After that we went to the benches in front of Sonsbeek to do some boardslides. Geertje joined us there and we went into the city again.

First skated some window ledge and shot two photos with Geertje. Then we went to these little round ledges and shot two more photos and some footage.

Cruised to 'Marktplein' and left pretty quick, to skate the metal banks by the Ambulance post.

Went back to the ledge where we had a look before, in search of a spot to take a photo at with Eric who had joined us as well.

Biked around more and more through some alleys and didn't find a thing.

Biked past this for the hundredth time.. Now who is gonna skate it?! Jack Sabback, get your ass over to Arnhem please..

Ending the day at Sonsbeek.. Brothers from different mothers! Another long, fun day with some good production!

Last night this random guy just walked into Frisco. Apparently he just to come every week when Luc used to work there a lot, and he already had a nickname. He started telling us all these jokes and about his wife 'Mile'....

While Ric was smoking a ciggy outside, the guy from last year biked past, who tried all these cloths on and wanted to buy all of it, which was worth about a thousand euro's. Dancing without a shirt, rapping to Usher and more. Classic times

The always so beautiful Willemsplein sunset, it was there again last Tuesday, without rain this time. Harmen, T, Simon and I went for a skate and it was on.

Harmen slipped out with a Bs Tail while I had just landed my trick and couldn't jump up anymore. So his board hit me just above the ankle. You can't really see it but my right foot is a bit swollen up. It doesn't look that back but my foot feels like it's 10KG's heavier! Thanks Harmen...

After cutting 6 hours of 'credits' footage in to 1 hour, to 28 minutes, to 15 minutes and to 8 minutes the bonus section is about to be finished. This Tuesday I'm printing the dvd cases.

Last night Harmen and I went skating again, he first had to grab something out of the wall at Apollo tho.

Seems that every time I go skating with Harmen there's sun showers.. But it didn't stop us from hitting some good spots.

After warming up we went to these rails, unfortunately we got kicked out after 5 minutes.. Next we went to the ledge at Musis Sacrum, where T joined us and an old lady started complaining about us. We finished the evening at Willemsplein. Anyone psyched to skate Arnhem again tonight?

A rare day

Yesterday the day started at Willemsplein. 1 'o clock and Jaap was half sleeping in the grass and Eric wasn't too active yet either.

Next was the wallride, with Jelle joining the session it all got a little more exciting.

Jaap waxed the curb and did some Bluntslides and Half Cab Bluntslides.

The crew grew bigger and the day suddenly became one of those in a couple of months. Luc was skateboarding the second day in a row, Jelle for the second time this week. After a while Joey, Boris and Hugo dropped by too. Then even Joris came by and Hendrik had already joined us before.

We went back to the snake run Luc had skated the other day, to shoot a photo with Eric.

For an hour or so we've just been chilling in the grass with some beers.

After that we went back in town. Harmen finished work and Peter had arrived in Arnhem.

So we went to this Ambulance post where there are two bank spots. Filmed some sick stuff on the first bank and by the time we were done it was getting dark.. Harmen and I skated the second banks for a bit and Eric tried to but had a hangup twice.

In the evening we've been chilling at Harmen's girlfriend's. T was drinking his beer through a straw.

I think it was around one that we went into town, to meet the other guys.

You'll never guess with who Jaap is having a play..

Yes, Luc was in town, to make this day even more dream-a-like! Tomorrow school is really starting again but the weather better be kind to us so that we can have sessions like yesterdays after school!

Today I went out skateboarding with Harmen and Luc. We started with the most rugged spot, but after peeling around for a bit we gave up.

After that we basically just biked around the area.. Showed Harmen and Luc this handrail.. Hendrik has once kind of promised me he would do this rail sometime so you better get your fucking groin fixed and take that hammer with you!

Boardslide over hop?

After biking around Klarendal and Spijkerkwartier we biked in the direction of Oosterbeek. Went to this supermarket and I couldn't believe what I spotted, fucking 'Pepernoten'. They're being sold earlier and earlier each year! I bet that next year they will be sold in August!

Next was this ridiculous snake run.. Luc ollied into it. Sorry you had to do it again and take 3 bails for the fisheye angle..

Just like the other day it started raining just when we had filmed something. So we went to Frisco, and when we got there there was a present for the team! Thanks Ric and Andor, I've been wanting one for ages!

We have to make a movie this school year and after that we are going on an internship. It will be full on but hopefully I'll still have some time to skate at night and in the weekends. I'm more than keen to film some night footage.

I just saw Stay Gold, and my mouth is still wide open. When I came to Reynolds his ridiculous gnarly hammers I had this feeling, the same feeling as I had after

Heath's part in Mind Field. The way that these too smooth hammers were edited to the song was something emotional. May it have something to do with Heath's retirement? And perhaps Reynolds his last part as insane as this?

What I do know is that I've missed Heath's skateboarding in Stay Gold. I can't wait to get the dvd (does anyone know a shop where they sell the limited edition DVD with the book?) and watch his secret part! Though, I do respect his decision a lot and I can definitely understand him. Skateboarding will miss you Heath!

Today was Spot the Spot, it stayed dry for quite long and the first spot got killed! After a while it started raining tho but we still had lots of fun!

The premiere went well too, thanks everyone for coming out! Hendrik and T were my personal favourites and many shared that opinion with me! The DVD will be for sale soon, I'm ordering some real nice cases from the States and get them printed at Willemeen.

Arnhem, the other side

Last Tuesday I went to Arnhem to skate and perhaps film something with Hendrik, T and Jaap.

We went to Geitenkamp and Hendrik had driven past this spot a while ago.. There were people working and when they saw us in front of the fence they closed the gate by purpose. Hendrik asked if we could skate at the schoolyard, only thing they said was "NO?" and then they walked away.. They didn't even hear Hendrik properly. I hope you enjoyed the toothbrush and all the other rubbish that we threw out of the car.. Wankers!

I've been to this spot with Mick a long time ago, no one had still skated it until now! Hendrik did tho.. It's unbelievable how he gets that speed so fast with only two pushes!

The 100% crew joined us later on and we went to the next never skated spot. These rugged banks going from real mellow to quite steep!

The weather was real weird and it looked like it was gonna rain any moment, luckily it didn't until I got into the train.

Oh yeah, around the corned of the banks there was this gnarly handrail.. I want to see at least one trick for the next video haha..

T was already asking me to go skate on Sunday at Rens' party. I was more than keen and we tried to get Hendrik hyped too, the next morning he send me a text only saying "Rolle nigga?".

So together with Dennis and his girlfriend we went to the always nice and grey Germany. T seemed to still have quite some alcohol in his blood.. I've laughed my ass off the whole time..

We checked out the industrial area of the small town we went to, drove past this super gnarly spot.

When you were sitting on the edge and someone would ride around you could feel it move, quite scary. Some sick last minute tricks went down tho!

Quite a gnarly spot but no one wanted to skate it..

When we were driving into the town before we drove past the industrial area, through the bushes I could see a loading dock. What I was hoping for was a ledge, and it was right there. Had to clean up a bit tho..

This could have been a shot out of a New Kids On The Block sketch.

After a while it started raining and we drove back to the border, Hendrik had a little sleep.

We woke up when we got to the church spot with the banks and hips.. T had something he wanted to try. Like always one of the neighbours complained and said that the cops would come if we would keep skating. So have a guess who showed up while Hendrik and I were filming T... Yes, the men in blue. Funny thing was that they parked their car in front of the church and then went in, T made his trick and we quickly got out of there.

Just like last year Rens is going for an internship outside of Holland again. Last year it was Barcelona, this Tuesday it's Shanghai!

So last night he threw a house party! What he didn't know was that we had all collected money and hired a stripper! It was hella funny! Jaap thought that the typical blonde pig-tail wig she was wearing was her real hair!

I don't know who's thing this was but it was sick!

Rens had moved all the furniture out of the living room, but the sound system was in his bedroom, so everyone moved there to party!

Around 12:30 neighbours started complaining and we moved to The Move.

This guy was sitting there, like this, for at least an hour!

Rens, we're all gonna miss you! I hope you have a great time and I wish I could visit again like last year!

Yesterday I went to Zutphen with T, Hendrik and Dennis. It was bloody hot, didn't really expect that!

In the centre there's this really sick bump, anyone keen to skate it?!

Did you know about Tristan Koelewijn's fish shop? I didn't..

Hendrik tried to launch himself on these poles that come out of the ground, too bad it didn't work..

We skated this spot for the rest of the afternoon, gnarly marble ledges and some good flat!

The day after

So after our night we woke up, watched skate videos, had coffee with some 'frikandellen' and then

jumped in the car, with 6 people.

We went to this place close to Doetinchem to skate this ditch but it was full of water. So we played around at this bump or whatever it is..

At the next spot, which was a flatbar, we got kicked out. Jaap claimed 'shotgun' but Jelle took it..

So Jaap tried to pull him out of the car, and he did.

We had to go back to the bump cause Hendrik had thrown out Jelle's board, luckily it was still there.

On the way back home we stopped at this school, with these 2 flatbars.. I already imagined Kellen James doing a crooked to switch crooked 180 back! Another fun day, and more to follow.

A night at Hendrik's

Last Tuesday Hendrik invited some people over to his place. Have some beers, deep fry some Dutch snacks and all that.

Everyone laughed their ass off when we were watching the new Blueprint video and that boy with the walking doll came by.. One of the best new videos I've seen in a long time.

T is always in love with everyone's cat, so he was with Hendrik's.

Hendrik came up with a 'fun' idea...

Push the lid of the beers in each others arms.

These two snacks had been out in the rain for 2 hours, Jaap ate the 'kaas souffle' for 5 euro's.

The other 'kaas souffles' all came out burned as the fire was too high..

Luckily the 'frikandellen' came out perfect, 'special' in the make!

Rens had a laughing fit, we didn't really trust him as he had just put the tip into the splif.

Everyone was falling asleep while watching Clockwork Orange. Rens, Jelle, T and I first went for an outside mission tho, Rens and Jelle had a swim in this pond at 1 in the morning.

When Hendrik and Jaap had to get up to take the newspapers around we found T sleeping like this, on his improvised bed. It was a really good night, can't wait for tomorrow night!

The Hague

Last Sunday I went to Arnhem, hooked up with Hendrik, Rens and T. Top 3 qualifiers of the game of skate in Arnhem.

While we were driving to The Hague T acted a bit weird, must have been the nerves..

It kind of sucked because Hendrik and T had to play each other in the first round. So T won,

and there he is, up on the 'stage' to receive the bronze medal. Congratulations again!

In the meanwhile Rens was working out outside.

We drove towards the city and all had a really good and cheap Turkish pizza.

We first skated these marble ledges in a little park but we got kicked out. Then we came across these 2 street gaps and Hendrik did a line.

On the search for 'Beatrixkwartier' we found out that Dennis has an undercover barber shop in The Hague..

Known from pretty much everything that comes from The Hague, when it's street footage..

There was a real strong wind and it was actually hard to get speed for that gap and for this ledge.

So we moved on, in that same street there's this rainbow ledge,

this rainbow ledge and another rainbow ledge that I didn't picture. This one is gnarly tho, too bad it was so windy and that it started raining after a while.

It had been a sick day tho and it was time to go home, so we rolled another joint and then drove to Arnhem. Can't wait for the next session!

Last Saturday Derk was coming over to Arnhem. We were gonna skate with Jaap, Luc, Rens, T and Daantje.

I had brought my bike to Arnhem for this and leave it there for the next time.

Daan is really growing up, skitching the Steenstraat with Luc.

We first went to Thialf.

And I've always been dreaming of someone skating that rail, and it became reality!

Then we went to the Chinese supermarket and everyone got their selves some weird shit, especially Jaap!

T bought some fucking spicy chips and an energy drink that makes you hyperactive.

You know who's best, T's best!

This dude biked by and was like 'Can I do a trick' and we all thought 'Oh god, he's gonna bail so hard'. He first try did this crazy old school trick and nearly did a heelflip too!

Next spot were these steep banks and a hip, everyone had to go through the bushes and spiderwebs to get there, I could just fit through the spines and so did Daan.

We had found a tennis ball and some pieces of wood and started trying to hit each other, mad fun!

Then at 5 everyone went home to have dinner, I went to the city with T and Derk and we got ourselves some food and drinks at the supermarket.

Oh and on the way to the city we came across these G's shooting a music clip.. Pretty funny..

The game of S.K.A.T.E. started at 7 but there were at least thirty little kids playing and they all could hardly do 5 tricks, so it took two and half hours before they were finished. Then we started and Frisco beated everyone, except for T. He got into the finals to play Hendrik. It was such a sick battle and T killed it. Congratulations, again!

Together with the top 3 of yesterday's game of skate I went to The Hague today. T, Hendrik and Rens that was! T finished on the third place! Representing Arnhem and De Achterhoek so good! We're proud of you mate!

Last Friday I went to Arnhem, skate with the Tuenter bro's, Daantje, Rens, Jaap, Luc and Jurriaan.

We basically ended up skating the Willemsplein ledges all day but in the end we went to Sonsbeek.

T and Harmen had told me about this spot in the park, a wheelie and two banks in a row. The wheelie was about 5 centimetres high and the banks were pretty small. Thumbs down for this spot!

Yesterday Dennis and I went to the ledges in the centre of Doetinchem to film a line, with my fucking sore legs. For some reason both the batteries of my camera's were empty, he nearly had it second try but after 8 more tries or so I ran out of battery and we had to quit, sorry mate! Yesterday T and I met at 11:30 in Doetinchem, super hyped to hit some new spots. We warmed up at Graafschap College but my phone was flat so no photos from the first two spots. When we went home to have something to drink and relax for a bit at four I charged my phone and noticed some missed calls from Hendrik and Rens. They were in Doetinchem since about 2:30. So I called them and they were searching for the Mc Donalds but couldn't find us. So they picked us up at 'De Huet' and we went to the first spot (see below).

These are some new stairs and neither of us had skated them yet.

This was the mascot when Hendrik went to France with Jaap, Bram and Luc.

Hendrik took Jaap's sound system with him, so T provided us of some good music.

I showed them the new metal ledge that we got in Doetinchem and they liked it, especially Hendrik. His part is going to be so fuckin' gnarly!

After that we went to the wheelie, unfortunately we got kicked out again but Hendrik had already done some sick tricks. Still have to film some stuff here tho!

Rens gave me this as a remembrance of the day. Thanks mate, I'll give it a place in my room, seriously!

Yesterday I went to Terborg with T, Dennis a.k.a. Tubbie a.k.a. Opa, Dennis a.k.a. Kapper and his girlfriend. Dennis thought he would be in Terborg before us, with the Porsche. Turned out that just taking the train is faster!

Hyped to skate the spot I'd seen a while ago!

The spot was a ghetto spot with two gaps in a row. When we got there there were big machines digging the sand away and there was no tiny bit of concrete left to skate. So we skated to this set of stairs in the next town. Tubbie was practising some heelflips on the way to the spot, with results!

Then just behind the stairs there used to be a sports store. But it was no more and there was a new ghetto spot, with a flat gap! Got the worst muscle pain I had in at least a year from skating this spot, not that cleaning it was that easy... Digging sand, bricks, wood, trash and leaves away with my filmboard, to have a good run-up for the gap.

After skating that gap for too long I finally landed my trick and we moved on to the next spot.

This bump that we came across on the way to the other spot.

This man promised Dennis 2 euro's if he would ollie it that try. It was going to be his 3rd try and with the thought of buying some beers at Lidl for those 2 euro's he did it perfect! The man kept his promise and we had some beers! Thanks mate!

Jaap was the last person I started filming with for a part. Every time we went skating (which was not often) he managed to get something done, with ease and not so much tries. Most of the footage went straight into his part but these couple of tricks did just not make it.

Beside skating the new gear we also went skating the new 'Amphion'. The wheelie is really sick, such smooth concrete!

I'm still in hospital but I've been improving a lot, I'm waiting for the internist now to tell me, hopefully, that I can go home. They took the drip off and I have to drink lots now to make sure that I have enough fluids in my body. My blood pressure is still low but my temperature is normal again, so the fever is gone. Can't wait to be skateboarding again, watched all these mean clips while I've been here! Peter, hook me up with the new Pontus Alv film! And can anyone please pick up my camera and get it repaired?!

Since last night I got a new room, in the hospital. I have been feeling sick since Tuesday and had a mad headache. I had pretty much all the symptoms of meningitis and went to the hospital last night when I found out it could be that. Than they took my blood and urine to do some tests and luckily it was all negative. I do have a virus tho and a bacteria in my blood. I'm on the toilet all the time and my stomach is really sore. I have a fluid drip and I'm getting antibiotics now. Hopefully I can out of here soon, gotta stay here until tomorrow evening tho! The food is horrible, the staff are too and it's boring as fuck.

Yesterday we had some people in Arnhem that aren't from there.

There was this photographer called Rob, shooting some photos with Douwe Sheckler for True Magazine.

Dennis had a good friend over from Heerlen, who was Stijn Delheij! Geertje was there too and he towed Stijn so he could ollie this rugged bump!

East the Beast had already done his hammers and was just drinking and smoking.. It was a quite productive day but in the end the viewfinder of my camera stopped working! Gotta get that fixed this week tho to film some last bangers and get ready for Sp.... th... ..ot....!

Last Sunday I went out skating with T and Harmen. After skating at Willemsplein we went to Presikhaaf to check out these red metal ledges, to find out they were a little big bigger than expected.

Behind that spot there was this pretty gnarly wallride! Too bad I don't have any Super 8 film at the moment..

Then we skated back to the more known spots in Presikhaaf but our legs felt as heavy as concrete and we didn't really skate anymore..

On the way we came past this rail.. Not too exciting.

And this abandoned schoolyard with these ledges.. Need lots of wax to skate this tho...

Gotta go to work soon again, tomorrow there'll be a new clip up and on Thursday I'm off again and stoked to shred the gnar! Dennis, Sander, T? Germany?!

Back on track

So, yesterday we went to Enschede. On the way to Varsseveld, where we had to pick up T it was really busy because of 'Zwarte Cross'. THE festival of Holland.

First spot we skated were the white ledges beside 'Van Heekpark'.

Tubbie was being tubbie, childish...

T wanted to go back to this spot and that resulted in something good!

As soon as he land his trick we moved on to the university.

While Dennis was throwing himself down the rail!

Then we went to Hengelo. I heard it had some sick spots over there and so it did, we basically drove against this spot when we went into town.

Just around the corner there were these wooden flatbars and a bump/stair on the other side of the road.

Before we went to the next spot we had some fries.

The Thiems 'skatepark' was just around the corner of the snackbar, but around the corner of Thiems there was this super smooth spot where we played a game of skate first.

It had this ledge but it's kind of fucked up now because they've put these blocks on there.

Then suddenly there were fireworks, Twente is not really the place to play with fireworks except for on New Years!

On the way back home we had the music as loud as it could go and we party'd for a bit!

And then Dennis dropped us off at station 'De Huet'. Can't wait for the next little trip!

Yes, today was one of these old classic days again! Dennis, Tubbie, T and I drove to Enschede and Hengelo. Now that I've finished both Tubbie's and T's part in FUVE they are getting productive again! We ended the day at station 'De Huet' in Doetinchem, with some 'cool' guys supporting us, skateboarders! Now I'm back to editing and capturing the new footage! The real update will be tomorrow!
